At this time, you can only manage songs in a playlist by tapping on the three dots and then you will be offered certain options.

Thanks. So the 3 dots no longer offers the option to reposition songs (drop & drag) in a playlist. 

Does anyone know why Deezer retracted this functionality & any news on its return???

No, the 3 dots no longer offers the option to reposition songs (drop & drag) in a playlist.
With 3 dots you can do remove song from playlist , add to playlist etc.

Option drop & drag is only available in Queue and it works as follows:

Find the playlist you want to listen and start play first song from playlist   open queue - now all songs from that playlist are in Queue   now you can use the 3 lines to move songs up and down or swipe left to remove songs from temporary Queue playlist .

​@jonnyb Hey From your playlist page, if you tap on “Edit playlist” in the 3-dot menu, you’ll access to the playlist edition page where you can actually change the order of songs by drag-and-drop
