Robbie Williams was voted into first place beating Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix and David Bowie to be named the best live solo artist. A UK nation-wide survey of 5,000 people saw the former Take That star beat music icons including Madonna, Michael Jackson and Bob Dylan. U2 were named best live band, ahead of Queen and Oasis, in a poll by Carling to celebrate the UK's live music scene.

Motorhead’s 'Ace of Spades' was named Greatest Gambling Song of All Time with Layd Gaga’s 'Poker Face' voted into second place. Online poker giant PokerStars asked 1,000 of its European customers to select their favorite poker-themed song from a list of choices.

Lady Gaga released her sixth studio album Chromatica. This gave Gaga her sixth consecutive Billboard 200-topping album, the eighth woman to claim six chart-topping albums, and, at nine years and two days, the record for the fastest six album No.1 tally by a female artist. It was also Gaga's fourth No.1 entry on the UK charts.

1974 was born CeeLo Green

American singer, songwriter, rapper, record producer CeeLo Green (Thomas Callaway), who with Gnarls Barkley had the 2006 UK No.1 & US No.2 single ‘Crazy’. His work has earned numerous awards and accolades, including five Grammy Awards.

2016 

A report, from the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office in Minnesota said Prince died from an accidental overdose of the painkiller fentanyl. According to the autopsy report, Prince self-administered fentanyl, an opioid many times more powerful than heroin.
