I've recently looked at my favorite tracks list, and there are dozens or more songs that I never added to my favorites. They are of completely random genres, not even matching some of the playlists that I have liked ( I thought maybe something was adding songs in favorite playlists to my favorite tracks, but that doesn't even seem to be the case). I have no idea where these tracks came from. Why are random songs appearing in my favorite track list? 

 

Edit: actually it does seem like some of the tracks were from playlists that I had favorited, but not nearly all of them. Some of the tracks were so far out of left field, like the Danny Boy song pictured above, that I have no explanation of where it could have come from.

Even so, did something change where if you favorite a playlist it also adds them as favorite tracks? If so, that's a pretty dumb thing to do. There are some playlists that I like, but I don't want to have all of those tracks added to my favorite tracks as well.

If you mark a playlist as your favorite, then all the songs from that playlist will NOT appear in your favorite tracks.

You may have accidentally added some songs to your favorite tracks or is this about suspicious activity, so I suggest you look at the article about suspicious activity On Your Deezer Account

That's what I was thinking, but I went into one of the random playlists I have liked, and nearly every other song was saved as a favorite. There's no way I could have accidentally done this because I generally only listen to music via Home Assistant casting to a Chromecast (specifically with the music assistant add-on), so I'm actually rarely in the app itself. Though now this has me thinking that maybe this is Home Assistant related, and somehow it's favoriting the tracks for some odd reason. 

I have no reason to believe there's anything security related happening because of someone else accessing my account; I've never seen anything odd in my recently played or anything, so if someone is somehow accessing my account simply to like random songs, I guess whatever? 😂

I've actually confirmed that it is possible to favorite a track via Music Assistant (for Home Assistant), and that track will be added to favorites in Deezer. Now, I definitely didn't manually favorite all these tracks that showed up, but it does lead me to believe that perhaps music assistant did something unexpected. I'm going to keep a close eye on my favorites to see if and when any new ones show up, what I was recently doing in music assistant, to see if I can determine why this might be happening. 

Yep, that's what's happening. I shuffled a Deezer playlist via music assistant yesterday, and all of the tracks that it made it through are now in my favorites, so it appears that for whatever reason music assistant is auto favoriting tracks that it plays from playlists. I'm going to take this to the music assistant GitHub forum.
